Cedega 4.2 to Support Half-Life 2

Transgaming issued a press release (which I could only find on Linux Games, not on Transgaming's site), stating that Cedega 4.2 will support Half-Life 2. Cedega 4.2 is scheduled to be released on December 7. I think I'll wait for a few folks to try this out first before I give it a spin. I'm well over the minimum spec of a 1.2Ghz processor, 256M RAM, and a DX7 video card, but it remains to be seen how well Half-Life 2 will scale, especially with any overhead from Cedega. We shall see.

In a related story, AnandTech posted some benchmarks of Half-Life 2 using the latest and greatest hardware. Basically, any current generation video card will run the game extremely well. They plan to follow-up with older cards soon. They warn that the GeForce FX series is basically unplayable in the game with the DX9 renderer. I assume that means that there is a DX8 renderer that will work better.
