"Cheaper" PS3 Will Be Upgradeable

Games Industry.biz got word from Sony that the cheaper PS3 will be upgradeable, although not to HDMI output. So you can add a bigger hard drive, WiFi, etc. later. It will be interesting to see how much those upgrades will cost though. Here's a snip:

This confirms comments made by Sony's Phil Harrison in a recent interview with GI.biz, where he stated: "You can upgrade to whatever size of drive you like. You can put in any drive that you like - it is a computer, after all."

I'm waiting to hear more details on what kind of Linux haX0ring you'll be able to do on this bad boy.
