More Reasons Why M$ sucks

I purchased an external Firewire-based hard drive enclosure so I could add some storage to my system without adding more PSU load, and I was quite pleased with it. Until I moved it to my Audigy's SBP-2 based Firewire port. Then, if I pushed the drive hard in any way, it would lock up, and the drive would die and corrupt whatever I was writing to the disk.

After much head scratching, I found Microsoft KB article 885464 which describes my problem exactly, and what to do to fix it. What do I do? Pay M$ $60 dollars for the privilege of installing a hotfix. They can kiss my butt. Luckily, I can add another Firewire port that ISN'T based on SBP-2 through my mobo, which will resolve this (I think).

Flippin' Microsoft. I really need to take the plunge and get myself on Linux. I've about had enough frustration for one lifetime with the M$ "gimme your money" stickup game.
