Single Window in Firefox

I just found a neat trick in Firefox to force sites that insist on opening links in new windows to open them in new tabs instead. First type about:config into the address bar. Look for browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs (type Single into the filter to make it easier) and change it to true. Then under Tools->Options->Advanced (or Edit->Preferences->Advanced in the GTK version) look for Tabbed Browsing. Check the box marked Force links that open new windows to open in: and choose the a new tab radio button.

While you are at it, check out the official Firefox keyboard shortcuts page for more fun tricks. I use Ctrl-PgUp/PgDn all the time to navigate between tabs.
