Gael Duval Interview

Linux Questions conducted an interview with Gael Duval, the founder of Mandrake Linux. It covers Mandrake's origins as well as its planned emergence from bankruptcy protection. I thought it was interesting that the first distro he used was Slackware. Mandrake is now the anti-Slackware, meaning that it has graphical wizards and utilities for almost everything and that it is very bleeding edge. Slackware is more "Here's your Linux! Go!" with an emphasis on stability.

Even though I am a former Mandrake and a current Slackware user, I wish them all the best. Hopefully they and SUSE can get "Joe User" to try Linux. Then, once they are comfortable with it, they can try Slackware :) Thanks Slashdot.
