More 3DO Info

Gone Gold got more information on 3DO's layoffs and their effects on New World Computing. Here's the scoop:
...there were layoffs at New World Computing last week. I wanted to give you the exclusive, official word of upcoming plans since there are lots of rumors floating around. While many people were let go (most were offered a choice of a position in the Redwood City, CA office of 3DO or a severance package), there is still a core team working on the Heroes brand. They have been given the green light to move forward with Heroes IV expansion packs, and with (insert trumpet fanfare here) Heroes V.
I'm sure J.t. will be happy to hear that! Thanks Evil Avatar.

J.t.Qbe comments: Well, it's good news for Heroes fans (like The Bowler), but we'll see what this means for the Might & Magic RPG series. Given the very mixed reception IX is getting, they may not be able to produce a tenth installment. I'd guess that if it's up to NWC there'll be a M&M X, but if it's up to 3DO, not.
