More With Thresh and the GeForce DDR

Thresh updated his GeForce DDR pre/review with Q3Test benchmarks on a Celeron 300A. The DDR version doesn't add much on a Celeron 300A system at 640x480 and 800x600, but it really does at 1024x768, especially in high quality mode. There the DDR version will give you 55.4 fps instead of 44.2 with the regular version (a 25% speedup). By way of comparison, a TNT2 Ultra in the same system gives you 29.8 fps.

In most of the timedemos, a GeForce-based card will give a Celeron 300a system a whopping 50% fps increase over a TNT2 Ultra. The only exception is in Q3Test's "fastest" mode, where most of the video options are turned off anyway. There the gains are much more modest. Guess I know what my next video card will be :)

The Master comments: And since I'm one of the poor saps with a Celeron 300A that ISN'T overclocked, I'll DEFINITELY look at one of these someday :-/
