Dreamcast Rumor Mill

The rumors are flying that Sega is preparing to dump the Dreamcast and turn to making software for the XBox and the new Gameboy. Yesterday, Sega of America seemed to deny this (although they don't come right out and say it):
Sega of America stated today that the company globally reaffirms its commitment to Dreamcast. In fact, Sega has more than 100 games worldwide coming out for the platform in the next year. It is not Sega's policy to comment on rumors and the company has not made any statement regarding ceasing manufacturing of Dreamcast or development for other videogame platforms.
Today, however, Sega of Japan indicated that they are looking in to dropping the Dreamcast.
"We must admit that stopping the production of the hardware is an option we are looking into," said Hiroyuki Mori, a Sega spokesman in Tokyo. "We need more time to make a decision, and we will announce it then."

He would not say when the announcement was expected. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Japan's leading daily, reported Wednesday that Dreamcast production would end after March and that sales would continue only as long as inventory lasted.
More news to come, I'm sure. Thanks Blue's News and Stomped, respectively.
