ATI sucks one down

The recent Macworld Expo put on by Apple was missing one keynote item when Steve Jobs gave his keynote address. ATI was supposed to demo their RADEON video processor onstage in the first 45 minutes, but instead were practically deleted from the conference. Why, you ask? Well, ATI suffered the wrath of Jobs. Basically, ATI setup a press release that preempted Steve Jobs. Don't ever do that :-)

ATI really can't afford this kind of thing to happen to them. Loose lips may just sink their ship, especially since Nvidia has taken aim at the Mac market.

A.T. Hun comments: Of course, as more than one person has pointed out, this seems like a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite your face. Apple needs hot 3D hardware and they needed to demo the Q3A Mission Pack on their hardware. Jobs' snit cost Apple both. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be a prima donna.
