Pondering the Imponderable -- 9:54 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

I happened to come across some "extra" money, so I went out and bought a Palm TX to replace my Tungsten E. Circuit City (no affiliation, yadda, yadda) had it for $269 on their website and they matched the price in the store. It's charging right now. Hopefully this week I'll be able to give a more detailed report.

NFL Week #8 -- 9:49 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Ahh, another set of piping-hot NFL picks for your perusal, amusement, and ridicule. Allow me to take this opportunity to rejoice that Michigan managed to contain and beat Northwestern on the road. Anyway, here's the picks. As always, they are guaranteed wrong or double your money back! Bengals, Cowboys, Lions, Raiders, Jaguars, Giants, Panthers, Browns, Saints, Chargers, Broncos, Bucs, Patriots, Steelers.

The Master comments: You'll need to excuse my late update to the picks, since we were out of town until about 10 minutes ago. The only differences were Bears and Chiefs. At this point it's looking like another split week.

Bleh -- 8:57 am CST, Update by The Master

I received my copy of Quake 4 on Wednesday. Thank you Eeyore :-). I put in about an hour and a half on it Wednesday and about 40 minutes last night. Contrary to some of the reviews I've been seeing, I think this is a really good game. Raven has done an excellent job of taking the Quake 2 game concept and giving it real life. Now, if only I was a better shot . . .

HL2: Lost Coast Released -- 8:54 am CST, Update by The Master

The Steam news page has word that Valve has released the Lost Coast add-on for Half-Life 2. This is the High Dynamic Range demo for HL2, and it requires a monster machine to run:

• CPU: a 2.6Ghz Intel, or AMD 2800+
• Memory: 1GB or better
• Video: ATI x800 or better, or Nvidia 6800 or better.

I know none of us have anything near this machine. I have ONE of these bullets matched (memory). Ouch.

A.T. Hun comments: Yikes. My computer is about half that. Of course, I'd have to run it under Cedega too. I can only imagine what a PITA that would be.
