NWN2 and Linux

Those industrious folks at Linux Games rounded up a bunch of posts by Obsidian employees about the possibility of a Linux client for Neverwinter Nights 2. You may recall that I made this post asking for a Linux client. Basically, there are no plans for one now, but they're designing the game to make it possible. One person even went so far as to say that they'd do a Linux and Mac client if he had his druthers. Here's to hoping that he will be simply laden with druthers by 2006.

DOOM3 Linux Update

Crusader over at LinuxGames got more information on DOOM3 in Linux from the id folks at QuakeCon. Here's the skinny:

The dedicated server is done and should be out really soon. The Linux client is still being worked on and is probably a few weeks away from actually working, and you know, will be released soon after that.

Well, good thing I resubscribed to Cedega. Oh well, by the time the client is out, I'll probably be through the game. Then I'll just have to play it again! Oh, shucks.

DOOM3 for $34.95

I noticed that GoGamer has DOOM3 on sale for $34.95. The Haus is not affiliated with GoGamer, but this is a pretty screaming deal. Act quickly, though, because the sale only lasts for 48 hours.

Hopfen und Malz Gott erhalt’s

I'm back after spending much of the week in Dallas, Texas. Did you miss me? (chirp, chirp) In addition to spending some quality time with coworkers from my team at work, doing heavy work with the Python programming language and learning that my boss is a party animal, I also learned a very important lesson: beer has important medicinal properties. During the bumpy flights down to Texas I didn't feel very good. Before the flights back home I tested the theory that beer would keep my stomach from complaining about the turbulence. One beer at the airport bar before each flight gave me the most comfortable flying experience I've had in years. Definitely something to remember for the future.
