NFL Week #10 -- 10:50 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

It can't be week 10 already, can it? That just doesn't seem right. The season's over half way done! Ack! At any rate, here's my ph34rless picks for this week's NFL action: Giants, Steelers, Seahawks, Bucs, Colts, Bengals, Lions, Titans, Chiefs, Vikings, Jets, Cowboys, Rams, Packers. Gads, I picked both the Lions and the Bengals. I must be insane.

UT2K3 Troopers Demo #2 -- 11:49 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

The UT2K3 Troopers team has released demo #2 of their forthcoming Star Wars-themed mod for Unreal Tournament 2003. Unfortunately, the only official mirror is LucasFiles which can be painfully slow. Now that it's been available for a couple of days, I was actually able to download it tonight and install it in Linux. I'll toy with it a bit and report back if it is any better than the first release.

Tungsten T3 Patch -- 7:43 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Palm has released a patch for the Tungsten T3 PDA that fixes a problem with slowdowns and with frying SD cards. You'll need to clear out 20M on the PDA and do a full backup before applying the patch. Reports are that the patch actually works and that some SD cards that previously didn't work work once again after a format. If you have a T3, snag this bad-boy ASAP.

Just a note: if you are using a Palm PDA (and presumably others), avoid SanDisk SD cards. They are much slower and much flakier. Panasonic cards cost a bit more but are a lot faster and more reliable. No affiliation, but I am a happy Panasonic 256M SD card owner.

IBM to SCO: Show the Code or Drop Dead -- 10:01 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Groklaw got their hands on IBM's recent response to SCO, basically saying show us the offending code or the lawsuit should be dismissed. Here's a choice bit:

Put bluntly, SCO's public relations efforts are at odds with its conduct in this litigation. SCO has made repeated, public accusations of IBM's supposed misconduct, while refusing to disclose its alleged evidence to IBM. Either SCO has evidence to support its accusations or it does not. If it does, IBM is entitled to see it now; if it does not, IBM will be entitled to dismissal of this case. In any event, it is time for SCO to respond properly (although belatedly) to IBM's discovery requests.

May be a good time to short SCO's stock. Thanks Slashdot.
