Pondering the Imponderable

Now that I've gotten this fit of writing out of my system, I can get back to some "real" work. By the way, I'm sure we can all look forward to new articles from The Master and J.t.Qbe sometime in the summer of 2017. In unrelated news, I wish AvantGo would stop updating their client for PalmOS 5 every day or so. I can't even tell what they are fixing. I wish they would fix the bug that causes the main channel listing page to be stuck at a width of 160 pixels even on a 320 pixel device.

I just found out that my installing Jedi Academy in WineX HOWTO has become an official part of Transgaming's FAQ for the game. It's always nice to know that people find the stuff you write to be helpful.

Review of the Palm Tungsten E PDA

After reading the specs and some reviews of Palm's new Tungsten E PDA, I decided to get one for myself. What led me to that decision? What features did I find to be irresistable? Now, just over a week later, am I happy with my rather rash decision to run out and buy one? Wonder no longer! Read my review of the Tungsten E and find out for yourself!

Leader of the Free World

I've been immersed in the Linux world for 6 or 7 years now and it's been quite a ride. Check out this cool Wired magazine article about the Leader of the Free World. Lots of interesting stuff about Linus and his creation. In '92 when I first heard about Linux, I thought it sounded like a cool toy (though I couldn't run it on my 286). I'd never have guessed that I'd be working with it full-time today.

Bleh

Okay, I understand the need to innovate on the web, but Shacknews is just irritating me. Why they feel the need to force a 1024x minimum screen resolution is just stupid. I'll have to ask them if they want to buy me a couple 25" monitors so I can switch to that resolution.

Oh, and while I'm complaining here, WHAT is up with that SCO stock price increase? An analyst at Deutsche Bank recommended the stock, and set a $45 price target. He conveniently never researched the merit of the lawsuit that's making him drool for the stock. It's also convenient that he doesn't own any of the stock. Draw your own conclusions.

Grrrrrrrr.

New Mozilla Goodness

Now that A.T.'s compiled his custom Mozilla 1.4, it's time to do it again: Mozilla 1.5 has hit the streets. And if you like living on the bleeding edge, you can get the newly-released (browser-only) Firebird 0.7. You can't go wrong with either one.
