NFL Week #1 Final -- 11:11 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

I've always said that a week that finds both Eeyore and me in double digits is a good week. I ended up 12-4 while she was 10-6. On top of it all, my Fightin' Wombats eeked out a fantasy win. A good time was had by all.

Warren Zevon, Dead at 56 -- 12:20 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

In an age of mass-produced prepackaged pop icons, Warren Zevon is a breath of fresh air. Yesterday, he lost his battle with lung cancer. He outlived the doctors' estimates by almost a year. I'll fire up some Zevon tunes in his memory. Lawyers, Guns, and Money sounds good right now or, perhaps more appropriately, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. I'm going to have to check out this album he's been recording over the past half year.

With only Monday night's game left, I am 11-4 while Eeyore is 9-6. We can take comfort in the fact that no one in the world would ever have picked the Texans to beat the Dolphins. Are they starting their annual December swoon this early?

Well, the Lions opened up a can of whoop@$$ on the Cardinals today, smashing them 42-24. Unfortunately, the defense still needs to improve quickly if they hope to have a prayer of beating real teams.

I want to play that Jedi Academy demo so badly I can taste it.

UPDATE! YESH! I found out that I can play the Jedi Academy demo anyway by running GameDate/jasp.exe directly with WineX instead of going through the launcher. Joy! I've been experimenting with the saber staff (aka double-bladed lightsaber). You can do some pretty sweet moves with it. Time to play more :)
