Updated id Map Pack

id's Paul Jaquays updated his .plan with word of an updated version of the first map pack because of a bug in one of the maps (story).
id releases updated version of Team Arena Map Pack 1

The original version of An Iteration of TA Hell (hal9000_ta.bsp) included in TA_Mappak1 contained a pair of clipping errors. These have been repaired and the map file has been updated to hal9000_b_ta.bsp. The config scripts to run the maps have been updated to run the revised map and a revised html document has also be included. Both files also contain a text readme file with installation instructions.

If you have previously downloaded the map pack, you only need the zip containing the map file for An Iteration of TA Hell.
Full version: id Software, Blue's News. New map only: id Software, Blue's News.

Fox and Bad Astronomy

The site called Bad Astronomy does some very nice work in debunking the incredibly bad Fox special called "Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon?" That special makes the XFL look like high-quality sporting entertainment. Someone needs to hit the Fox program planners with a stick, methinks.

RAMBUS' Plot

Some papers obtained in Hyundai's lawsuit reveals that RAMBUS did indeed intend to claim patents on open memory standards. You can get the details here. If RAMBUS wins, memory prices will skyrocket. If RAMBUS loses, hopefully the company will fail. Thanks Shugashack.
