M$ Cripples Document Conversion

In Microsoft's latest move to lock in users to the newest Office ONLY, Office 2003 Service Pack Disables Older File Formats. This applies to Office 2003 SP 3, and it locks out conversion of Lotus 1-2-3, Quatro Pro, Corel Draw, DIF and SLK open-definition formats, and any Microsoft format from before 1997. Their reason? Insecure file formats.

Yeah, right.

A.T. Hun comments: Let this serve as a reminder to anyone who has the temerity to say that MS Word DOC format is a "standard" to say nothing of an "open" one. Basically they are saying if you are using Office, you'd better not plan on accessing your documents 10 years later.
