I don't know if it's just me, but personally, I think the dating ads on Userfriendly have gotten completely out of hand. Illiad might need to make payroll, but it would be nice if people who read his comic didn't need to worry about allegations of misconduct because of his ads.

A.T. Hun comments: I love how those ads always show (certain parts of) hot babes. I get the point they're trying to make: "If you sign up, you could end up with her!" But if somebody THAT hot is using a dating service, it can only mean one thing: psycho chick from Hades.

The Master comments: I'm fairly sure that's an understatement. I bet even Satan is going "No thanks, I'll pass. Can't deal with that level of insanity." :-)

Pondering the Imponderable -- 11:17 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

It's a bit of a belated Christmas for me today. I spent some Christmas/bonus money to buy a Sony DRU-810A DVD burner to replace my dead LG. I'll be looking for a creative way to destroy that. I also got a 1GB SD card for my PDA, a new desk chair, and a copy of Burnout: Revenge for my PS2. After rebates, the drive is $79 and the SD card is $59. The most expensive bit was the chair. My old one was falling apart and the arms on it were giving me upper back pain (and making it nearly impossible to play guitar in my office). The new ability to "check" traffic going the same direction as you are in Burnout: Revenge is possibly too much fun.
