Darwinia

Introvision has rereleased Darwinia via Steam today. I bought the pre-release, since I thought it looked like it had potential. After playing 3 hours worth of it tonight, I'd say it was a well-spent $18. The graphics are reminisent of a modernized Tron movie, and the gameplay feels like Populus on Super Nintendo. Good stuff here.

Pondering the Imponderable

Turns out that a traffic accident was not responsible for the loss of power yesterday. It seems that the main transformer that feeds the city blew. Power was out until crews could switch us over to the alternate feed. Granted, it's a small city, but it's still less than comforting that the power grid has one, single point of failure like that.
