This morning at work we had an urgent meeting to inform us that as a reward for our year of hard work and sacrifice, 14 more people would be laid off. And this time it's my turn. I can't say that I'm too surprised: there aren't many people left to cut, and we certainly can't expect vital people like vice presidents and HR to take a hit.

So, if you know anyone who needs a Unix admin/Perl programmer/public speaker/writer, my email address is above.

NFL Week #7 Final -- 8:34 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Well, we managed to tie again. I feel particularly ashamed that I didn't win since she picked my Lions and I didn't. Still, 9-5 isn't too terribly shabby. 62-40 (.608) is our year-to-date total. I'm three games off my pace last year at this time while Eeyore is five games over hers. In other news both my fantasy football and hockey teams won too! Huzzah for me and my pseudo-reality!
