MPlayer and Linux

As a part of my Linux system rebuild, I compiled and installed MPlayer and the MPlayer Firefox plugin. MPlayer can play just about any form of media known to man. I am pleased to report that it is now infinitely easier to compile on Linux. No headaches at all. The plugin works great, even better than Crossover's offerings. I'm very pleased.

Welcome to Slackware 10.1!

Well, I finally made the move and upgraded to Slackware Linux 10.1. Once I make sure everything is working well (so far, so good) I'm going to buy it from the Slackware store. Slack's maintainer, Patrick Volkerding, has had some pretty substantial health problems this year. If you like Slack (and if you don't, what the heck is wrong with you?), help the man out and buy a copy!
