Pondering the Imponderable

There's a new spam scam out there. While I'm still getting plenty of emails for Viagra or to help out some person with a rich dead relative in Nigeria, I'm now getting emails offering "genuine" Rolex watches. Apparently spam has now caught up to the average street con artist in Chicago. Hooray, progress! In related news: I've got an idea for an article on how, thanks to spam, viruses/worms, and over-regulation, the Internet might become worthless.

J.t.Qbe comments: Too late.

A.T. Hun comments: Yeah, I'd read that already. I've got a different take on the whole situation though . . .

J.t.Qbe comments: Well, get writing then! To put it into perspective, yesterday our company scanned 16.5 million emails for a certain large technology company. Of those, 15.8 million were spam. Yikes.

CHOKE!

The New York Yankees (yes, the Yankees) just completed a historic choke, becoming the first major league baseball team to lose a seven-game series after leading three games to none. I'm no Bosox fan, but the schadenfreude is too much to resist. I can't wait to hear the Steinbrenner tirade after this bad boy. Unfortunately as a Tigers fan, this is the closest I can expect to come to enjoying a pennant any time soon.

Eeyore comments: Woot!
