Leader of the Free World -- 8:35 am CST, Update by J.t.Qbe
I've been immersed in the Linux world for 6 or 7 years now and it's been quite a ride. Check out this cool Wired magazine article about the Leader of the Free World. Lots of interesting stuff about Linus and his creation. In '92 when I first heard about Linux, I thought it sounded like a cool toy (though I couldn't run it on my 286). I'd never have guessed that I'd be working with it full-time today.
Bleh -- 8:31 am CST, Update by The Master
Okay, I understand the need to innovate on the web, but Shacknews is just irritating me. Why they feel the need to force a 1024x minimum screen resolution is just stupid. I'll have to ask them if they want to buy me a couple 25" monitors so I can switch to that resolution.
Oh, and while I'm complaining here, WHAT is up with that SCO stock price increase? An analyst at Deutsche Bank recommended the stock, and set a $45 price target. He conveniently never researched the merit of the lawsuit that's making him drool for the stock. It's also convenient that he doesn't own any of the stock. Draw your own conclusions.
Grrrrrrrr.
New Mozilla Goodness -- 8:30 am CST, Update by J.t.Qbe
Now that A.T.'s compiled his custom Mozilla 1.4, it's time to do it again: Mozilla 1.5 has hit the streets. And if you like living on the bleeding edge, you can get the newly-released (browser-only) Firebird 0.7. You can't go wrong with either one.

HOWTO: Roll Your Own Mozilla -- 12:49 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
Whenever a new version of Mozilla comes out, I compile its source so I can have an xft-enabled build. Xft enables Mozilla to display antialiased fonts. The process is a little tricky so I wrote a HOWTO, explaining how you too can Roll Your Own Mozilla. Enjoy, and get compiling!
NFL Week #6 Final -- 12:07 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun
Eeyore and I ended the weekend's festivities tied at a rather handsome 11-3. That makes her 60-28 (.682) while I am right behind at 57-31 (.648). I just know her luck has to run out one of these weekends. She's a full 100 points over her three-year average.
