Half-Life 2 -- 5:39 pm CST, Update by The Master

If you haven't seen this, you're living in a well: there's a post over on Shacknews that is pulling together a bunch of various threads all over the printed game magazine media that may be hinting at an imminent Half-Life 2 release. Hmmm... I may need to play Half-Life now :-)

J.t.Qbe comments: A few weeks ago you could get the Half-Life Platinum pack (HL plus 4 expansions/addons/fruit bats) for $24.95 at Target. Ahem.

The Master comments: You mean there's people who don't own all that stuff yet?

OK, it's 80 today, but they are predicting snow or freezing rain for Wednesday through Friday. Air conditioning today, snow throwers later this week. Hooray for northern Wisconsin springs!

J.t.Qbe comments: Pretty much the same situation here in western MI: mid-70s today and tomorrow, low 50s or 40s the rest of the week. Whew! I mean, brrr!

Bleh: MySQL 4.0 -- 6:12 pm CST, Update by The Master

I tried out the new MySQL version 4.0 released as production this week. This is really good stuff: wicked fast, and an easy upgrade from version 3. I'm going to play with the fulltext searching features sometime shortly, and see if those are as cool as they look. Here's to hoping :-)
