UT2K3 2199 Patch Released -- 6:43 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Epic has released the 2199 patch for Unreal Tournament 2003. The official site has not yet been updated with links to the patch. You can get the Windows patch from FileShack and the Linux patch via the updater. I know I did! The big fix with this patch is the server exploit we reported earlier. This patch also gives Linux users a little utility to install ut2mod files, although it hasn't been well-tested.

Another Morrowind Expansion Announced -- 4:04 pm CST, Update by J.t.Qbe

Another Morrowind expansion is in the works: Bloodmoon. They sum it up pretty well in the first few words of the press release: "Hunt Werewolves -- or Become One". Scheduled release is in May.

A.T. Hun comments: No word on whether or not you'll be able to buy a piña colada at Trader Vic's.

Unreal II Demo After All -- 9:12 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Legend Entertainment's Glen Dahlgren made a post on the Infogrames forums talking about the upcoming patch for Unreal II and confirming that there will be a demo for the game after all. Here's the scoop on both:

As you may have read in the forum already, we're planning on releasing a patch sometime soon. It should address a number of the issues that people have raised in these forums. As well, we're going to be releasing a demo, especially targeted at those of you who want to 'try before you buy'. It should be a great benchmark to see how the game runs on your particular system.

In a later post, I'll try to get you some specifics about both of these, but it shouldn't be too long until you've actually got them in your hands.

OK, this has to be one of the funniest press releases I've ever read. Kudos to the Opera team for having a much-needed sense of humo(u)r. My big question is when will this be available for Linux? Thanks Slashdot.
