New ZoneAlarm and NWN 1.21

I upgraded to the new version 3.125 of ZoneAlarm today. Unfortunately I discovered that it caused Neverwinter Nights to GPF. So I downloaded the manual 1.20 patch and tried it. This time it worked. I'm talking with someone from Infogrames tech support about it, but the problem seems to be related to the SecuROM copy protection in the game. That's caused a number of users to have problems. So if you like Neverwinter Nights and use ZoneAlarm, don't upgrade one or the other until the situation is addressed.

BattleTech for PCs

I've been monitoring a couple of projects that are attempting to bring the BattleTech tabletop game to the PC. This has been tried before, and all the projects that were done in the past have fallen to the wayside. These new ones look very promising, and one of them is open source. Check them out:

New Q3A PR soon

Robert Duffy updated his .plan with word of a soon-to-be released point release patch for Q3A. Here's the word:
Just a quick note on future releases for Quake 3 Arena. We will be releasing a new point release in the relatively near future which includes a handful of fixes and updates and also includes full Punk Buster integration to combat cheating. No firm date on when this will be out but it should not be too far off.
