It Worked! -- 12:31 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Red Hat released an update kernel for their 7.1 distribution which I am using. I decided to try using their up2date utility to do it, since their email implied that it would work. Since even an RPM kernel upgrade can be a pain, I was skeptical. Well, color me convinced. It worked like a charm! The only casualty was my NVIDIA kernel driver. The RPM for that required the old kernel. All I had to do is snag the source RPM, rebuild it, install it, and I am in business again. All too easy. Kudos to the Red Hat team!

Happy Birthday, Quake! -- 12:19 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Today marks the the fifth birthday of id's Quake! Quake is the game that taught me the wonder that is online gaming. So I guess my wife knows what to blame :) Methos Quake has an interview with id's Tim Willits and ION Storm's John Romero about the game's design. I wonder what would have happened if they would have stuck to the original concept for Quake? Thanks Blue.

The Master comments: And we played a whole lotta Quake3 to celebrate! Hey E-quit "willing" those bots into the void, huh? I need some more kills over here :-)
