Half-Life 1.1.0.6 Patches Released -- 1:15 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

A little earlier than expected, the Half-Life 1.1.0.6 client patches have been released. They aren't available through the auto-update feature yet, but Blue has a list of mirrors for the patch from 1.1.0.4 (11.4M) and the full patch from any previous version (54.6M). Naturally, with this and the recent Counter-Strike releases, the mirror sites are getting the living daylights beaten out of them.

Retail Counter-Strike 1.1 Released -- 12:51 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

As foretold, the 1.1 patch for the retail version of Counter-Strike has been released. It's a 19.3M download and is NOT the patch for the downloadable mod version. That is also available at the above link.

New NVIDIA Linux Drivers -- 10:28 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

I saw on Linux Games last night that NVIDIA had released new (0.9-767) versions of their Linux XFree86 4.x drivers. I wanted to make sure to test them before I posted this. There are no major changes for my TNT2 Ultra, but from what I've read these new drivers fix some major problems with GeForce2s and higher. Their website hasn't been updated yet, but the drivers are available via their FTP site. An updated README is also available there.

Half-Life Servers Released -- 11:26 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Valve has released new versions of the Half-Life dedicated server. There is the Win32 full install (100.1M), Win32 upgrade (17.4M), Linux full install (101.2M), and the Linux upgrade (22.9M). All these links take you to Blue's News' mirror pages.

Linux Tribes 2 Preview -- 10:39 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Linux.com posted a preview of the Linux version of Tribes 2 which is being ported by Loki. Overall the reviewer has high praise for it, but the system specs will be out of this world. Thanks Linux Games.

Counter-Strike 1.1 Released -- 5:56 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

As promised yesterday, Counter-Strike 1.1, the insanely popular Half-Life mod, has been released. It is available is a 19.5M patch from version 1.0 or as a 87.3M full download.
