SiN patch version 1.11 released

Ritual has released version 1.11 patches for their SiN shooter. Good news, hopefully this will fix the few remaining crashes in a truly underappreciated game.

Buy Shogo: MAD for Linux

Tux Games finally has the boxed version of Shogo: Mobile Armor Division for Linux in stock. It's only $26, so you can hardly go wrong. Thanks Blue, for the heads-up.

FWIW, The Haus is not affiliated with Tux Games in any way.

History of NVIDIA

The FiringSquad has a rather interesting article on the history of NVIDIA, from the first bumbling steps with the NV1 to the soon-to-be-announced NV20. Read it to see how they went from being a distant competitor of 3dfx to owning 3dfx. Thanks Shugashack.

NVIDIA to Support 3dfx

Hard|OCP got their hands on a document sent to Electronics Boutique stores saying that NVIDIA has agreed to support 3dfx products until February 2002. I wouldn't expect new Voodoo2 drivers, but 5500 owners should be a little happier. Thanks Shugashack.

Netscape 6.01 Released

I saw on a couple of different sites that Netscape Communicator 6.01 has hit the FTP servers. No word on exactly what is fixed, but I would guess that if you are using Netscape 6.0 instead of Mozilla, you would want to download this.

New ICQ

Blue is reporting that there is a brand-spanking new version of ICQ (2000b Beta v4.63 Build #3279) available for download. As usual, they aren't very forthcoming on what is new, but I would guess that there would be something in there to counteract the ICQ hacking programs (story).

Mozilla 0.8 Tree Closed

According to mozillaZine, the tree for Mozilla 0.8 was closed for all but vital fixes. This is right on time for the scheduled release on February 12. There are no guarantees, of course, but it looks good!

Bleh

Welp, in my opinion, it has been a thankfully slow news week. I've been swamped rebuilding home PCs, and it's been a real blast. First rebuild of my PC in years, and it went rather smoothly. I'd prefer not to do this again tho :-)
