Gamecenter sucks it down

Welp, it's official: Gamecenter to close. Dut-dut-dut, another one bites the dust-HEY! I must apologize to Queen now.

A.T. Hun comments: Everyone who will miss it, raise your hands. Didn't think so.

Greetings from Arizona!

After an absolutely perfect flight, we arrived safely in Arizona. It was a bit of a shock to go from ~30°F to ~70°F, but I think we'll adjust :) The only problem so far is that I didn't realize how much the Wisconsin cold numbed my hand. It bugs me a lot more, but it's still tons better than it was.

I do have some Net access via AOL *wretch* which is better than no access at all. I miss my 128K wireless though. Going back to 33.6K is a bit jolting. So I hope to occasionally pop in with updates. On Friday we may be going to see a Phoenix Coyotes hockey game. The Red Wings they aren't, but it's still the NHL. Until later . . .

Shiny makes Matrix games?

According to an article over on Variety, Interplay Entertainment has been awarded the videogame license to The Matrix.

I am a fan of The Matrix-I just don't know how well that movie can possibly translate to a game. Guess we'll see . . .

M$ Announces Windows/Office XP

No doubt hiring the same brain cell that came up with "GeForce" and "Pentium", Microsoft has announced that the latest version of Windows will be Windows XP and Office will be Office XP. Apparently the XP stands for Experience. If they use Hendrix's "Are You Experienced" in their ads, I'm going to shoot out my T.V. No word on whether or not it will suck more than WindowsME.

XBox Trademark Problems

Microsoft may have some problem releasing the XBox gaming console on time due to a trademark dispute with a company called Xbox. In case you were wondering, yes, I am smiling quietly to myself. Thanks VoodooExtreme.

New Ask Hook

VoodooExtreme posted a new Ask (Brian) Hook Q&A. Today's question is about a team with zero experience getting attention from a publisher. I knew this guy was in trouble when I read the first words of his question:
Me and about four other people are about to start a development house
Nothing impresses a publisher like a fine grasp of the English language.

Leavin' on a Jet Plane

Sorry to quote a John Denver tune--I blame poor parenting. At any rate, my family and I are heading out to warmer climates for a little over a week. In the meantime, I leave you in the capable hands of The Master for all your gaming news and J.t.Qbe for all the Linux stuff. I don't know if I'm going to have any kind of Internet connection at all while I'm gone. I hope no one weeps uncontrollably at my absence.
