Jake Simpson interview on Gamespy

There's a new interview with Jake Simpson over on the Gamespy Network discussing gaming hardware. I've always liked what Jake has to say in his .plan updates, and I've chatted with him a few times in email. Good guy-give it a look.

Anandtech DDR mobo article

Anandtech has posted a fascinating article on the new DDR memory technology with Athlon processors. Good stuff in here, as usual. Anand is really technical and in-depth in his articles.

id Downtime Rescheduled

id's Christian Antkow updated his .plan with word that the planned downtime for the id master server has been rescheduled. Here's the official word:
Router maintenance will be rescheduled for a future time (probably at some ungodly hour in the morning during the week). It was brought to my attention that a lot of Europeans play league games on Sundays.

Maintenance on our DNS server will go ahead as planned however. DNS will be down between 2pm and 4pm CST on Sunday, Sept. 17th. This should not affect your ability to access the Q3A master.

NFL Week #3 Picks

Before I forget . . . here we go! Here's my picks for this week in the National Football League as I attempt to defend my sterling 20-10 record. Panthers, Bills, Jaguars, Eagles (Packers 0-3? Oof!), Steelers, Chiefs, Rams, Bucs, Broncos, Vikings (Pats 0-3?), Seahawks, Giants, Ravens, Redskins. Game to avoid watching unless it is one of the terms demanded by the people who kidnapped your son: Steelers at Browns. Shudder.

The Master comments: Eeyore's picks: Panthers, Bills, Jaguars, Raiders, Vikings, Saints, Bears, Eagles, Steelers, Chiefs, Rams, Bucs, Dolphins, Redskins.

No Love for Universal

Courtney Love, lead singer for "Hole" and widow of Kurt Cobain, is suing Universal Music Group for her slice of the $100 million windfall they got from their settlement with MP3.com. I'm not a big Hole fan, but this might change my mind :) Of course, she's never going to see a dime of it, because it's all going to UMG's coffers, not to the artists they were ostensibly supporting. Thanks Slashdot.
