NFL Week #7 -- 9:46 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

And here we go again! Chargers, Packers, Jets, Steelers, Eagles, Patriots, Jaguars, Bengals, Broncos, Cardinals, Seahawks, Colts, Cowboys.

Flash Player 9 Beta So Far -- 6:48 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

In my testing over the past several days, I've been generally pleased with the Flash Player 9 beta for Linux so far. Here's a little list of the pros and cons that I've noticed so far:

• Pros:
• Audio/video is now synced perfectly
• Far lower CPU usage than Flash 7
• Ability to watch any Flash 8/9 content I've come across
• Cons:
• Stability issues: Firefox sometimes locks up entirely, requiring a "killall firefox-bin"
• Occasionally the audio will get stuck (like a skipping record for you old-timers). Closing the tab/window involved usually does the trick.

I've noticed the most problems with ESPN.com. They make use of Flash more than any other site I visit. Basically, the added features and lower CPU usage make the stability issues tolerable. It's not like the browser is locking up every couple of minutes either. It's definitely worth taking for a spin.
